1 – Research Your Audience/Ideal Customer

Before you begin with marketing or branding, consider who you will be selling your products to.  Write down what your ideal customers’ demographics and interests are to help paint a picture of who you’ll be talking to with your marketing copy.  Once you’ve written out your audience’s age range, gender, location, interests, household income range, now it’s time to write down what the problem is you solve for them.  Most businesses only talk about the external problem – the physical/tangible problem your product/service solves. We suggest also talking about how that problem makes your customers feel and why it’s just plain wrong for them to have to deal with it!  Once you have all this written out, you can begin with the fun stuff.
